Tomb Raider and Witchblade sharing continuity
Back in the 90s, Top Cow Productions got the rights to Tomb Raider, and to introduce it into their universe, they began with a crossover with its flagship series, Witchblade.
Under normal circumstances, you’d think this is just a one and done thing where the two series barely acknowledge each other past that point, but there are plenty of instances where events and items from their crossovers show up in each other’s series.
In their first crossover, Lara gives Sara a black catsuit to sneak around in while investigating Lucas Moralto’s mansion.
The catsuit reappears in Witchblade #25 when Sara’s fighting an old enemy, Ian Nottingham.
Witchblade/Tomb Raider has the most connections to Witchblade, with the comic ending by saying its story is continued in Tales of the Witchblade. That series then dedicates three issues to Bastet’s (the crossover’s antagonist) backstory, and issue 9 has a text box referencing the crossover.
The Endgame story arc spans across Tomb Raider: The Series and Witchblade. Witchblade #59 says the story continues in Tomb Raider #25, and Tomb Raider #25 says it continues in Witchblade #60.
The issues afterward show the fallout. Sara references Lara by name in Witchblade 61 while looking over the damage her death caused.
And just as a bonus, the Complete Witchblade volume 4 flat out says issues 59 & 60 are part of the Endgame crossover with Tomb Raider.
Witchblade #78 has Sara call Lara to help with investigating Tom Judge’s murder, and we see this from Lara’s perspective in Tomb Raider #46. This call is what sets off the final arc in Top Cow's Tomb Raider series.
And for the final reference, Lara shows up as a cameo in Ron Marz’s run during a montage of people from Sara’s past.
